AB de Villiers announces retirement from all forms

“It has been an unimaginable excursion, yet I have chosen to resign from all cricket,” ABD composed on Twitter. “Since the time the lawn matches with my more established siblings, I have played the game with unadulterated happiness and unbridled energy. Presently, at 37 years old, that fire does not consume anymore so splendidly. 

“That is the truth I should acknowledge – and, regardless of whether it might appear to be abrupt, that is the reason I am making this declaration today. I’ve had my time. Cricket has been outstandingly kind to me.”

Having made his global presentation in 2004, AB de Villiers addressed South Africa in 114 Tests, 228 ODIs and 78 T20Is. Across designs, he amassed 20014 runs, averaging more than 50 in the two Tests and ODIs. He resigned from global cricket in May 2018.
