7-time F1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton Receives Knighthood

Just days after losing a major F1 World Cup fight to Max Verstappen, seven-times Champion Lewis Hamilton was honored at a ceremony at Windsor Castle. Hamilton was announced on the list of people to be honored last December when he won his 7th F1 world title in 2020 when he equaled Michael Schumacher’s long record as part of the Queen’s New Year Honors list. 

Lewis Hamilton  was honored by Prince Charles. His name was even praised by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

This makes Hamilton the only F1 driver to be honored with this right behind Sir Stirling Moss, Sir Jack Brabham, and Sir Jackie Stewart. However, alongside Sir Jackie Stewart he is the only other living F1 driver to be honored and the only one ever trained while working on the grid.

in 2021,Lewis Hamilton came close to winning his 8th world record, but due to a controversial end to the F1 title final, the Britons were defeated by Verstappen in the final leg of the race. Hamilton, who turns 37 in January, is also the only black F1 driver in F1 history. He has a contract until the end of the 2023 season with the Mercedes F1 team, when he turns 38, approaching 39. Many expect Hamilton to call you the day after the contract expires.

Hamilton, who is said to be attending the FIA’s world championship event on Thursday, was attending a championship event with his mother Carmen. The Mercedes F1 team may not appeal the Abu Dhabi race decision after their two protests were dismissed by FIA officials, which according to reports created by Hamilton.
