Marcus Ericsson was born to father Tomas Ericsson and mother Kerstin Reinhold on 2 September,1990. He was born and raised in Kumla, Sweden.

Ericsson is a Swedish racing driver. When he was nine years old, racing in karts, his first taste of motorsport came, but because of his family condition, he thought he couldn't think of it.

In the year 2007, he made his successful debut in car racing, which made him take the British Formula BMW title with Fortec Motorsport.

Marcus won the Japanese F3 championship and guest appearance races in British F3. He also qualified in pole position in the Macau Grand Prix.

In 2011, Ericsson switched to the iSport international team alongside Sam Bird. He finished sixth in the Asia series and tenth in the main series championship.

Ericsson secured one victory during his maiden campaign for Super Nova Racing in 2010 and he also drove for iSport between 2011 and 2012.

Marcus finished 11th in the 2015 British Grand Prix, where he eventually finished taking fifth points position for the year in front of teammate Felipe Nasr.

He debuted and competed in Formula One racing with Sauber and Caterham F1 between 2014 and 2018 and won the 2022 Indianpolis 500.

Currently, Marcus Ericsson is competing in the NTT IndyCar Series season and second with Chip Ganassi Racing driving the No. 8 Honda.
