Parag Agrawal, India’s chief technology officer in Twitter, has been appointed new CEO of Twitter after his predecessor and Twitter founder Jack Dorsey resigned.
Parag joined Twitter 10 years ago when there were fewer than 1,000 employees. He joined Twitter as a respected software developer and became a technology officer.

“Thank you so much for the service you have created, the culture, the soul, the purpose you have established among us and leading the company to important challenges,” Parag wrote in a Twitter post expressing his gratitude to Dorsey for his help in teaching and friendship.
Agrawal is a student at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, where he did a BTech in Computer Science and Engineering. He also holds a PhD from Stanford University in the United States.
“Parag has been behind all the important decisions that have helped transform the company. Curious, curious, intelligent, creative, demanding, self-aware and humble, ”Dorsey wrote on his Twitter account.
