Hollywood Star Leonardo DiCaprio and Bollywood’s Abhay Deol would be teaming up together for the sports biopic of legendry mid-20th century featherweight boxer Willie Pep. The title of the biopic will be ‘Pep’. According to the reports, it further confirms that Leonardo will be producing the biopic under his productions and will be teaming up with Bollywood actor and producer Abhay Deol’s Canada-based Blisspoint Entertainment and Singapore’s Golden Ratio films. The film is further scheduled to begin its production at Hartford, Connecticut which is in Pep’s home state. The biopic will be directed by Robert Kolodny and the screenplay will be done by Steve Loff. The other leads of the movie include the ‘Band of Brothers’ actor James Madio who will be seen in a titular role along with Keir Gilchrist who will be seen playing the role of Pep’s son ‘Billy Jr’, and Ron Livingston will be seen in the role of Pep’s business manager whose name was Bob Kaplan. As of now, no female lead has been not confirmed yet. Robert Greene will be seen as the film’s editor and Stave James will be seen as the executive producer.
The Bliss point entertainment is a film and content creation company that was created two years ago by Abhay Deol, and in the collaboration with the Golden Ratio, they have produced a horror movie “Son”.
Whereas DiCaprio’s Appian Way holds film credits such as “the revenant”, “the wolf of wall street”, and a TV’s “Live by night”. As per the reports and the sources, Abhayanand Singh who is the CEO and the Co-founder of Vista Media Capital went on to speak about the upcoming project and said that. “We are pleased to partner with Appian Way to tell the story of the late Willie Pep – an iconic fighter who has inspired many with his emotional comeback to the ring.”
